Refunds & Returns
At The Opalescent Collective we take pride in creating handmade items crafted with care and attention to detail.
Our pieces are handmade and each piece is individually crafted by hand, therefore there will be variations. We consider these variations to be individual character that should be embraced as your unique and special piece.
Once your handcrafted delicate pieces leave our care, they become your responsibility. Please take care of your pieces and it will serve you well.
Please read our returns policy carefully before making a purchase.
By purchasing from the Opalescent Collection, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms at Checkout.
Any requests for returns need to be made within 14 days of purchase. Please contact us via email at info@theopalescentcollective.com.
1. CHANGE OF MIND
1.1. As we provide bespoke and other handmade items, items purchased from our store is considered final. This means they are not eligible for return, exchange, store credit, or refund for change of mind, incorrect sizing, or personal preference.
1.2. We do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind or personal preference.
1.3. Each piece is individually crafted and handmade with great care and they may have variations, which adds to its unique charm. We always encourage our community to shop thoughtfully and mindfully.
Before checking out, we recommend:
- Double-checking the size, colour and weight of your item(s);
- Reading the full product description and fabric details; and
- Reviewing photos and the piece's notes carefully.

What if the item doesn't work for me?
As all our products are handmade we are unable to make exceptions for returns due to sizing, weight, or change of mind for any reason. We truly appreciate your understanding, as this policy allows us to continue offering our unique items.
2. DAMAGED ITEMS
2.1. While we take every precaution to ensure your order arrives safely, accidents can happen during transit. If your item arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order.
2.2. To facilitate the refund process, please provide clear photos of the damaged item and the packaging that it was in, and upon request, please return the damaged item and the packaging back to us.
2.3. Please further note that to be eligible for a return or refund, the item must be unused and in the same condition as when you received it.
2.4. A refund or replacement will be considered on a case-by-case basis upon review of the required documentation.
2.5. Please note that you will be responsible for the cost of shipping the item back to us. Shipping costs are non-refundable. In the event that you receive a refund, the cost of shipping will be deducted from the total amount refunded.
3. DEFECTIVE ITEMS
3.1. Upon receipt of your order, please immediately and carefully inspect your items. In the unlikely event that you have received a defective item, please contact us immediately.
3.2. We will work with you to resolve the issue promptly, either by providing a replacement or issuing a refund.
3.3. Please note that natural product degradation due to wear and tear, exposure to elements (including water), user error, breakage or damage during use is your responsibility and is not covered within the Refund Policy.
3.4. Please further note that to be eligible for a return or refund, the item must be unused and in the same condition as when you received it.
4. REFUNDS
4.1. Refunds for damaged or defective items will be processed to the original payment method.
4.2. Refunds will only be considered upon receipt and inspection of the damaged item and its packaging.
4.3. Once we have received and inspected the piece(s), we will send you an email to notify you of its receipt as well as the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, you will receive a refund and the credit will be applied to your original method of payment.
4.4. Any shipping charges associated with an exchange will be the sole responsibility of the customer.
5. GIFTS
If you would like to request a refund or return for one of the aforementioned reasons, and an item was gifted to you, we will require proof of purchase from the gift giver. Once verified, we can arrange the refund or return with you, provided that it adheres to our policy.
6. SHIPPING
6.1 To initiate a return, please email us at info@theopalescentcollective.com and we will provide you with the necessary details.
6.2. Depending on your location, the time it takes for an exchanged product to reach you, or us, may vary. We recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance, as we cannot guarantee receipt of the returned item. We will not be processing any refund or exchange if we are not in receipt of the item.
